My eldest two sons were raised on David Attenborough's "Life Series". From age 3-4 years they were watching those docos and it has given them such a strong base of general knowledge, and an appreciation and love for the environment and an understanding of the workings of ecosystems.
I'm really interested in what science documentaries you have your children watch.
I remember seeing the pilot for Bre Prettis' Hacker Histories (a show that never got off the ground), but I recently showed it to my eldest who is 10...it is all about electricity and the battle between Edison and Tesla...he was so enthused.
So - beyond Mybusters...what else is out there that will inspire and engage kids?

"When We Left Earth" is one that both the 10 and 14 year olds have enjoyed.
