Dr. Who Mafia Game


 What is Mafia? Sometimes called Werewolf, it's a fun party game of accusations and conspiracy. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing this charmingly devious game at a convention or on another web forum, there's a fun Flash animation here to help you understand the rules.

I'll be moderating a Dr. Who-themed Mafia game here on the GeekDad Community. If you're interested in joining in, all you have to do is sign up below.

Some rules to read before you sign up:

  1. First and foremost: this is just a game. It can sometimes be a tense and dirty game, yes, but you should be doing it for fun.
  2. Each daytime phase will last 1 week maximum. The night phase will last 48 hours.
  3. If a player hasn't posted in 72 hours, I'll prod them publicly in the thread. If they don't respond to the prod within 24 hours, I'll look for an alternate. 5 prods and it's an automatic replacement.
  4. If you're going on vacation, just post it to the thread in bold, or PM me.
  5. If you have any other questions, please consult the MafiaScum Newbie Guide and FAQ. If those don't answer your question, feel free to message me.

The current focus on Michael is perhaps unwarranted, he appears to have a genuine-ness across all the posts - yet the quick moves by Russell and Mandy are suspicious to me...

So, at tis stage I vote for: Chaos Mandy Horetski 


...but would change to Russell if more people are inclined that way...

Daniel I was sorta feeling the same way.  Michael is almost to chatty for his own good but still genuine.  Mandy not so sure about you.  If you have a good argument for your defense then I am going with Daniel.

Just a point of clarification - Randy - if Kevin fails to respond does the vote proceed as planned for tomorrow or is Kevin the lynchee?

Hey, Daniel. Just a clarification re: this:

Indeed, it was Michael who was able to make the final move that tipped the beautiful Valerie into the abyss...

Actually, I made the final move to tip Nathan into the abyss, sadly. Valerie was killed by the scum.

I think that, in theory, we would find a replacement player. However, given the difficulty we had in filling our ranks from the start, I'm not sure that is likely. However, I don't think it's fair for me to decide who gets lynched. The vote will proceed as decided by the group.

I'll advertise for a replacement player. If nobody responds by the beginning of D3, I'll just modkill him.

Kevin, you have until I find a replacement or until beginning of D3 if you want to stay in.

Well, now we've got less than 24 hours and two votes for two different people. And this is why I was so "hasty" to get voting started. So, what do we do now? Is there someone all of us can agree on to vote for? To break a stalemate, I will be willing to change my vote. So, ideas?

Part of me says we should just target Kevin and get him out of here, seeing as he's said absolutely nothing this round. Come on, Kevin. Tell us what you think/know!

I'm with Michael, if Kevin doesn't chime in over night, he's my vote solely because, whether scum or townie, he's non-contributing to the game and that's not cool. Kevin, I'm all ears, otherwise I'm voting

Well, seeing at how late it is for me, and the fact that I'm not sure if I'll be up before the deadline, I'll officially change my vote.
