What is Mafia? Sometimes called Werewolf, it's a fun party game of accusations and conspiracy. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing this charmingly devious game at a convention or on another web forum, there's a fun Flash animation here to help you understand the rules.

I'll be moderating a Game of Thrones-themed Mafia game here on the GeekDad Community. If you're interested in joining in, all you have to do is sign up below.

Some rules to read before you sign up:

  1. First and foremost: this is just a game. It can sometimes be a tense and dirty game, yes, but you should be doing it for fun.
  2. Each daytime phase will last 1 week maximum. The night phase will last 48 hours.
  3. If a player hasn't posted in 72 hours, I'll prod them publicly in the thread. If they don't respond to the prod within 24 hours, I'll look for an alternate. 5 prods and it's an automatic replacement.
  4. If you're going on vacation, just post it to the thread in bold, or PM me.
  5. If you have any other questions, please consult the MafiaScum Newbie Guide and FAQ. If those don't answer your question, feel free to message me.

If you haven't already, just sign up to join the GeekDad Community here and then respond below if you'd like to join the game!

So far, we have:

  1. Chris Earnest
  2. Randy Slavey
  3. Nathan Barry
  4. Denine S
  5. Ian M'Rock
  6. Chris Lee
  7. Kevin Clem
  8. Chris Barber
  9. Gene Davis
  10. Andy
  11. Bob Sandlan
  12. Spencer Post

I'm thought I was just getting severely delayed notifications but they may be repeat.

Ian seems to have too much information, like a certain Spider we all know.

VOTE: Ian.

Now Ian has 3 votes, but my vote for him was a bit hasty and we should try to do a better job this day to think through our votes.

UNVOTE: Ian

Denine:

Just to make sure, your vote yesterday was based on prayers to the Seven, and nothing else?

Ian, prayers to the Seven and a deep feeling that he is scum.  However, I have been thinking about the number of votes you have accummulated and the reasons behind them so more prayers are in order.  In the meantime, I will stand by my vote.

Vote Count 2.3:

Gene Davis: 1 / Ian M'Rock
Ian M'Rock: 3 / Chris Lee, Spencer Dylan
Spencer Dylan: 2 / Nathan Barry, Kevin Clem
Chris Lee: 1 / Randy Slavey
Nathan Barry: 1 / Denine S
Not voting: 2 / Gene Davis, Andy

With 9 alive, it takes 5 votes to execute someone! The deadline is Thursday, 5/3, at 10pm ET.

Gene's convincing people to vote for Ian and then withdrawing that vote seems a little odd to me.... Are Gene and Ian working together? And if so on which side are they? I am not calling for a lynching - simply calling to attention to potentially suspicious behavior.

I wondered if someone would think that.  Oh well, sorry Ian, they are on to us ;-)

Joking aside, the Gene and Ian show has been bothering me too, but not nearly so much as why Denine seems to have it in for me. What have I done to deserve such distrust?

In response to Spencer, I'm not entirely sure what information I possess that isn't clearly available to everyone here. What I do offer is a bit of experience in interpreting what information we might get. I fail to see how silencing me would be of any help to anyone but the scum.

Kevin's assertion that somehow Gene and I are in cahoots by trying to get people to vote for each other... well, that'd be a new strategy to me.

Frankly I dont trust anyone... There is no information and its making me a little crazy, Therefore I am sticking to my original call and am demanding answers from Spencer. I find it fascinating that after an innocent man dies, sadly one whos very head I demanded, the only comment we get from him is:

Reply by Spencer Dylan yesterday

He seems completely unconcerned, and that in turn is making me concerned!

It also concerns me this is the only other comment I can find for him....

I'm ready for some blood. Off with Chris Earnest's Head!

(we can cut the number of Chriseses down as well.)

At this point unless he can do something to lessen my suspension, I am pointing menacingly and calling him out as SCUM!

I wonder about anyone who puts forth a name for any reason. We have no information, no spies, and no ravens flittering about. How can we vote with clear conscience except to rebuke a baseless vote? I say let those who have credible evidence come forth and speak. Those who vote without such should be looked at intently for sowing the seeds of treason.
