What is Mafia? Sometimes called Werewolf, it's a fun party game of accusations and conspiracy. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing this charmingly devious game at a convention or on another web forum, there's a fun Flash animation here to help you understand the rules.
I'll be moderating a Game of Thrones-themed Mafia game here on the GeekDad Community. If you're interested in joining in, all you have to do is sign up below.

Sorry, folks. Rules are rules. With 9 alive, it took 5 votes to execute someone, and though Spencer got two votes after the deadline, he had only 4 before it. So... no lynching on day 2.
It's nighttime. Fluff post will come shortly. No more chatting here, please, 'til day 3 starts (48 hours, or... we'll say midnight on late Saturday/early Sunday).

While many clamored for a beheading, Ned managed to calm the group and talk reason.
"We have no evidence!" shouted the King's Hand over the din. "Until we gather more concrete proof, we cannot allow another execution! It has become clear since yesterday that the King's brother, Renly Baratheon, was innocent. Do we want another innocent man or woman put to death?"
King Joffrey looked on with a sour look on his face. It seemed clear to most in the audience that he would not be allowing another such lapse of... justice. Not again.
And so, the sun set once again on King's Landing. If you have a Nighttime Action, you need to use it before MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

Everyone thought that after the lack of a public execution, things might prove to be more peaceful during the evening. This was, of course, a fool's dream.
"My King, your Hand is unable to attend this morning's Small Council meeting," said the attendant, gazing down at his own boots. "He... he is mourning."
"Yes. Lord Stark has lost so much over the past few days. Truly sad." The boy king's words did not match his tone. He seemed almost bemused by the news. "First his heir, then his ward. Now his own wife. And stabbed in the back by another dagger made in Qarth. Very strange news, indeed. What was the Lady Stark even doing in King's Landing?"
"No one knows, Your Grace. Many think she had urgent news for Lord Stark, but, alas, she did not reach him in time!"
"A shame, indeed," Joff murmured. "Well, it looks like our killer is still wreaking havoc on my kingdom. Let us find him and put his head on a spike!"
And so Night 2 ends, with Denine S., also called Catelyn Stark, Vanilla Townie, killed by a dagger of Qartheen design.
Day 3 begins. With 8 alive, it takes 5 to lynch. Deadline is Sunday, May 13th, at 10pm ET.
Permalink Reply by Gene Davis on May 6, 2012 at 1:22am Oh crud, another townie gone. And given who he voted for yesterday, I'm sure that points a big finger at me. But I had nothing to do with it I assure you.
I propose instead we swiftly carry out the justice we were too late on yesterday. I don't believe Denine's death changes that.

You fools. Don't you see? You're being played by ian. If you kill me you will shed more innocent blood.

Permalink Reply by Ian M'Rock on May 6, 2012 at 11:38am Okay, I know that me doing any sort of analysis of this game gives me automatic scum points from some people, but I don't think that's going to change much in the way of people's opinions at this late stage.
We have 8 people left alive. Given that Gene's guess/scumslip is correct, when we're down to 6 people, the Town can no longer outvote Scum, and loses. That means that if we lynch a townie today, we're down to 7 people tonight, and if the scum's kill goes through, we lose tomorrow morning.
If there's a Town detective who's found a scum, NOW would be a good time to come out with it.

Wow. That was quick. Ok, then. I've got to run out for a few errands. I'm not calling it quite yet, but I will tonight if the vote remains where it is.
