What is Mafia? Sometimes called Werewolf, it's a fun party game of accusations and conspiracy. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing this charmingly devious game at a convention or on another web forum, there's a fun Flash animation here to help you understand the rules.
I'll be moderating a Game of Thrones-themed Mafia game here on the GeekDad Community. If you're interested in joining in, all you have to do is sign up below.

Permalink Reply by Randy Slavey on May 6, 2012 at 2:28pm I'm beginning to think our moderator has gone soft. "Rules are rules" he tells me when my crow arrived 9 minutes late to the council yesterday, but after the required 5 votes, he says he will not pronounce judgment until the evening. Perhaps a 6th vote will convince him to carry out the justice that this council demands...
Vote: Spencer Dylan

Sorry, had to run a bunch of errands tonight. Plus, I wanted to give everyone a chance to see that the daytime had actually started! I'll be back in an hour or two to close out the daytime session. 'Til then, feel free to chat amongst yourselves all you want. Like I said before, until I mark the day as over, you can unvote at will.
Permalink Reply by Randy Slavey on May 6, 2012 at 11:03pm My efforts to lynch a scum were thwarted by the rules, I don't like the idea of disregard for those same rules allowing the scum time to rally their defenses.
You say now is the time for a town detective to come forward with information, and I agree. However, extra time after we've decided on Spencer's fate also allows him or his scum pals to disclose any information they've garnered about the rest of us. If Spencer's dying act of defiance is to disclose the doctor or investigator among us, you will recognize the wisdom of my haste. If Spencer or Kevin (who has yet to respond) are able to impart some investigative knowledge on us in this interim, I will gladly admit that my impatience was folly. However, as the rest of the town has already spoken, and anything that Spencer shares at this point must be viewed as a possible effort to save his own hide, I feel the risk of Spencer doing damage is greater than the possible benefit Kevin might provide if he is an investigator. If you see that as bloodthirsty, then so be it.
Permalink Reply by Spencer Dylan on May 7, 2012 at 8:59am Well, I can't change anything now it seems. Good luck towners, I did my best.
With my dying breath I will ask "et tu Randy!"
Permalink Reply by Spencer Dylan on May 7, 2012 at 9:03am Since I'm not dead yet I'll throw this in. Randy doesn't want me to talk because he knows I'm a townie, Andy said he would vouch for Ian's credentials. Vouch how? Sounds scummy to me. I think Ian, Andy and Randy are scum. The rest I'm not sure about.
Now you can take me to Ilyn Pain with a clear conscious. I will miss my whores the most.

It was true that Ned had little love for the Imp, but when the Kingsguard threw Tyrion Lannister at his feet, he felt a twinge of pity. But not for long.
"They say that you were behind the murders, Imp. All of them. The King. My son, my ward... my poor Cat. What say you to these charges?"
"I ask what I would gain from such machinations." Tyrion shook his head. "Nothing, Lord Stark, and you know it. I am but a scapegoat. What proof is there that I was the one responsible? None. Conjecture. But if it makes you all feel better to blame the grotesque, by all means. I live to serve."
Joffrey, standing behind the King's Hand, smiled cruelly. He had been waiting for this moment for a very long time. "As the King of the Seven Kingdoms, I sentence you, Tyrion Lannister, to death for the murder of my father, Robert Baratheon. Ser Ilyn, do we have a gibbet small enough for the Imp?"
Lord Stark watched, stone-faced, as the sun set above. Tyrion, at the block, looked out to the crowd gathered, and said, "I am not the killer you seek. And if you do not find him... or them... soon, these Seven Kingdoms will know wrath and ruin like never seen before."
And so, with nightfall, Spencer Dylan, also called Tyrion Lannister, Innocent Aligned Doublevoter, was executed. If you have a Nighttime Action, you have 48 hours to use it. Nighttime phase ends at 9pm ET on Wednesday, May 9th. Until then, please refrain from posting here in the thread.
Permalink Reply by Kevin Clem on May 7, 2012 at 6:45pm I apologize for my non-vote, I was computer-less due to my boot sector ceasing to exist. Luckily you all knew who I wanted to vote for.
We need to group up here, anyone who has any real information needs to come forward, if you have investigation please call it out, I know that makes you a target but we continually help the scum win!

Permalink Reply by Michael Harrison on May 8, 2012 at 12:09am It's nighttime, folks. Please no more discussion until it's daytime again. Thanks!

Joffrey scoffed at the dead bald man and then at Ned Stark. "He's just a dead Braavosi. Why should we care?"
Stark calmly nodded to the body of Syrio Fortel, the bravo who had been cut down with a single slash to the chest. "Because I had hired him. To teach my daughter how to... dance. It seems odd that those who attack the throne from within these walls would target him."
"I don't see how this matters, Lord Stark," the young King snapped dismissively. "Guards, clean up this mess. Don't bother me unless it's important." And with that, Joff stalked off.
The Hand of the King watched as the Kingsguard dragged away Fortel's corpse. His mind was racing. What is happening here?!
And so Night 3 ends, with Chris Lee, also called Syrio Fortel, Vanilla Townie, killed by an expertly placed sword slash to the chest.
Day 4 begins. With 6 alive, it takes 4 to lynch. I'm going to push the deadline up, so it's Sunday, May 13th, at 10pm ET.
