What is Mafia? Sometimes called Werewolf, it's a fun party game of accusations and conspiracy. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing this charmingly devious game at a convention or on another web forum, there's a fun Flash animation here to help you understand the rules.

I'll be moderating a Game of Thrones-themed Mafia game here on the GeekDad Community. If you're interested in joining in, all you have to do is sign up below.

Some rules to read before you sign up:

  1. First and foremost: this is just a game. It can sometimes be a tense and dirty game, yes, but you should be doing it for fun.
  2. Each daytime phase will last 1 week maximum. The night phase will last 48 hours.
  3. If a player hasn't posted in 72 hours, I'll prod them publicly in the thread. If they don't respond to the prod within 24 hours, I'll look for an alternate. 5 prods and it's an automatic replacement.
  4. If you're going on vacation, just post it to the thread in bold, or PM me.
  5. If you have any other questions, please consult the MafiaScum Newbie Guide and FAQ. If those don't answer your question, feel free to message me.

If you haven't already, just sign up to join the GeekDad Community here and then respond below if you'd like to join the game!

So far, we have:

  1. Chris Earnest
  2. Randy Slavey
  3. Nathan Barry
  4. Denine S
  5. Ian M'Rock
  6. Chris Lee
  7. Kevin Clem
  8. Chris Barber
  9. Gene Davis
  10. Andy
  11. Bob Sandlan
  12. Spencer Post

Err... you grant that I have a good point, and yet you vote for me because of it? I mean, if it comes down to a single vote between the two of us, I can understand that it'd make sense to break the tie in your favor, but it's not sound reasoning to throw a vote on someone simply because they're following what you admit is a decent line of thinking.

I voted for you simply because you were so quick to jump on me, as if you were looking for a quick reason to point a finger at someone else.  But no question it was a decent line of thinking.  With more information I expect I will unvote you and vote for someone else.

Well at least this game is staying true to the body count of its source material! Chris, Chris and Bob - I feel like we barely knew you. May your bones be laid to rest with those of your forefathers, and your souls spirited away to be with the gods.

I honour of our slain brothers, I shall continue to seek out the scum who took their lives before their time, and with that in mind I will heed Chris E.'s dying words and:

VOTE: SPENCER DYLAN

Not really, I think it does make sense. Based on tips given, strats, etc, it seems you're the most experienced player. If you are scum then you know who are town.

If you saw Chris E with 2 votes, and you know that he's town, it could be easy to say "welp guys it's better than nothing" and explain about random lynch vs. no lynch d1, etc, as opposed to voting somebody else.

Just a suggestion. Since Michael has requested we don't use the threaded replies, and so many people are posting comments addressing a specific person, I recommend using the blockquote or addressing the person by name to whom you are speaking. e.g.:

[My response to the above comment would go here]

Vote Count 2.1:

Gene Davis: 1 / Ian M'Rock
Ian M'Rock: 2 / Chris Lee, Gene Davis
Spencer Dylan: 1 / Nathan Barry
Not voting: 5 / Spencer Dylan, Randy Slavey, Andy, Kevin Clem, Denine S

With 9 alive, it takes 5 votes to execute someone! The deadline is Thursday, 5/3, at 10pm ET.

Two of the three scenarios I outlined as reasons for your quick attack on Ian and quick defense of Gene necessitated you having more information than the rest. The third worked if you were scum. Based on this defense, I have no reason to believe you have any more information than anyone else. So, until someone proves me wrong:

Vote: Chris Lee

I am nothing less than confused... But I feel dirt for my vote, which helped to kill Renly. Therefore I also will respect his last words!

Vote: Spencer Dylan

My vote may not be persuasive but I stand by my first vote and shall vote the same way again.

Vote:  Nathan Barry

Denine:

Just to make sure, your vote yesterday was based on prayers to the Seven, and nothing else?

Vote Count 2.2:

Gene Davis: 1 / Ian M'Rock
Ian M'Rock: 2 / Chris Lee, Gene Davis
Spencer Dylan: 2 / Nathan Barry, Kevin Clem
Chris Lee: 1 / Randy Slavey
Nathan Barry: 1 / Denine S
Not voting: 2 / Spencer Dylan, Andy

Anyone else getting repeat email notifications, or is that just me?
