Ken and I have been doing the HipTrax podcast for, like, a million years a while now, but since we're still finding it hard to stream the feed as we do our regular recording it almost feels as though we've taken a step back with regard to interacting with our audience.

Feel free to use this thread to make song or artist requests, as the title suggests, but also to discuss the project itself and its individual episodes. Is there something you'd like to hear more of? Less of? Do you want us to seek out additional interview opportunities like our epic sit-downs with mc chris and Kirby Krackle?

We live to serve, folks, so let us know what you like!

Play some Skynyrd, man.... Sorry... Had to...

Man, I... I really set myself up for that one, didn't I?

So. Z...been meaning to ask your opinion on The Mountain Goat's "Damn Those Vampires"...does that fit within the broad Geek Music church...or just a band trying to get on a vampire movie soundtrack....?

I think the narrative within that song is particularly nerdy, Daniel, and the band itself is too, if on a somewhat broader level. There are other notable tracks like "Lovecraft in Brooklyn," sure, but tMG have been based out of Durham, North Carolina for a while now. Durham was, alongside nearby Chapel Hill, sort of at the vanguard of the studious, ultra-lo-fi, indie geek chic songwriter thing that's become so common here in the States of late.

Had not heard of "Lovecraft in Brooklyn"...sound just like my thing...and could form the basis for an album of simialr titled songs?

Poe in Pennsylvania?

can you try to get optimus rhyme back together, I mean I love super commuter but if you can try

Oh, man, I do nothing but try and get OR back together! The interesting thing is that no one really seems to be against the idea; the band parted on good terms. The issue seems more to be with everything else the guys are involved in. Wheelie and grimROCK both have new projects, Stumblebee does solo stuff and Powerthighs has a young child.

I have come across a band named Hadron the Collider. Self-described as "Alt-Science Rock from Brooklyn – Kinda Like the Big Bang." That's pretty much all I know. With a brief listen at their website they seem to fit in with the Hiptrax thingy. Or at least I didn't hear any curse words...

Check it: http://www.hadronthecollider.com/

Nice find, Joel! I shall check 'em out.

Play some dualcore

That I can do, 'Tron. Speaking of, everyone lean on int 80 hard about recording some new stuff!

Thanks for playing dual-core I love them, and maybe you can play Schaffer the Darklord's Monsters of Rock. It's his mildest song but it it still epic
