Fatherhood: The Truth by Marcus Berkmann is a great read, very amusing, although it might be a little light on actual advice and facts.

I did learn one important thing from it that's stuck with me to this day - he says something along the lines of, "no matter how new your washing machine is, be prepared to buy a new one within a month of your new baby being born". Sure enough, when our daughter was 4 weeks old, the washing machine packed up!

When my wife was pregnant with our first child, a friend of ours gave me a book about fatherhood by Paul Riser. I don't remember anything in it, except that it was fairly entertaining.

A good book my wife and I read after our son was born is titled Buy, Buy, Baby. It's by an investigative journalist that looks at the marketing of products to parents (it even has a whole chapter devoted to Elmo). You don't necessarily have to go to the extreme of trying to keep all licensed products away form your child, but it is definitely nice to be aware of exactly what the companies are attempting to do.

The book that seriously helped me was The Expectant Father by Armin A Brott. It is extremely well written and covers just about any topic you can think, as well as talking about adopting parents and parents expecting multiples. And my wife loved it as well.
