I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I am likely going to be attending the St Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds game on Friday July 13 (includes fireworks after the game).  If there are any GeekDad Fantasy Owners in the area and planning on attending the game, we'd love to meet you.

This is going to be a sports weekend with my oldest two boys.  We are going to see this Reds game on Friday for my co-owner (and middle son) then see the Columbus Crew (soccer) play on Saturday night for my oldest son.  I am sure my oldest son will be asking me why we don't play fantasy soccer together!

Hey, Steve.  My son and I may be interested, but I'm not sure how much advanced notice we'll be able to give.  We're about 1.5-2 hrs from GAB and we've been talking about trying to get to a Reds game all season.  We have a baseball tournament in Plainfield, IN that weekend, though, so it will depend on whether or not we have a Friday night or early Saturday game.

We have our tickets for the Friday July 13th Reds game against the Cardinals.  My co-owner played for the Reds in Little League.  Between that and Jay Bruce being one of our better players on our team, he has become a Reds fan (at least he is not a Yankees fan!)  We are looking forward to the game on Friday the 13th.

Co-owner is excited to see our very own, Jay Bruce, play on Friday.  I hope the weather is decent and we get to see the game.  We'll have to see how the Red's pitching rotation is setup after the all star break.  It would be a double bonus if we got to see Matt Latos pitch.

Double fantasy bonus - it looks like Latos is scheduled to pitch on Friday.  We get to see two of our fantasy players in action.  Joseph will be estatic.

How was the game?  We would have liked to go, but James' team ended up having a game Friday evening.  We were thinking about trying to catch a game next week, however at this point I think we'll hold off until Votto comes back.

We had an absolutely great time.  Weather was very comfortable.  We lucked into some reasonably priced tickets.  We were in the 5th row in the first section into Right Field from 1B.  My co-owner got a foul ball and also got a foam ball after the Reds won.  It was an exciting game where the Reds came from behind.  My co-owner and his older brother were on the JumboTron acting crazy.  The post-game fireworks were terrific (except for my ears ringing for the next two days).  Joseph, my co-owner, liked watching our fantasy players, Matt Latos and Jay Bruce.

It was my first opportunity to see the Reds closer, Chapman, in person.  My oldest son, who enjoys going to games, but isn't a baseball fan persay, was blown away by Chapman's velocity.  He doesn't really understand the game of baseball, but he recognized the talent that Chapman had.

Because of the fantasy baseball connections, it certainly enhanced the experience.  My only "regret" is that everything worked out so well that I'll have a hard time living up to these expectations in the future.
