Thanks for the link Dave.  I suppose like anything else, they would start to wear out, but a great project!  I am assuming that your second post was a repost of the comment from before...I didn't see the one that disappeared.

I use this. It makes great molds but is a little pricey. Although I don't mind before creating something I'm going to ingest. The molds can handle a lot of detail. But (and this is important) we made chocolate bars for my son's school. The molds had a good deal of detail and after 20 or 30 bars, the mold began to break apart and we had little chunks of blue silicone on the surface of the bars. However, if you have a clean, non-detailed mold, I bet the molds would hold up for a long time.

Dave, would the food-safe silicone be same to bake things like mini-cakes or suckers with???  If so, the possibilities could be endless.

We have actually done this before. It's very simple. All you need is a Han Solo in Carbonite toy, some food-safe silicone and a few Hersey bars.

Of course you could add a little variety as well by adding Vader, the Millenium Falcon, R2-D2, or an X-wing.
