I was wondering what Os you were going to be using. I built one a couple of years ago and used Win 98 as the server os and modded x-boxes with xbmc as the media play out.  This was before we all got Iphones and tablets. 

I have thought about upgrading it but can't find any real reason to do it.  Most of our Video comes from Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon and the audio is all now on Google, or Itunes.  I still have about 2 t of  old video and audio on the various computers around the house but nothing is centrally located anymore.  

Actually just noticed the old server is off at the moment.
