Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'I would like your feedback on the inaugural GeekDad Fantasy Football season' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Football League
"RE: Bye rules We have a 20-team league, so the scarcity is a serious issue. Even scaling back the number of keepers from 8 to 6 (and only one developmental instead of 2) to improve the draft, there are very limited opportunities to pick up starting…"

Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'I would like your feedback on the inaugural GeekDad Fantasy Football season' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Football League
"My football season was easier to share than baseball, which due to a number of non-sports related reasons is rare for me to watch. I never miss Chicago Bears football, however, and have found a good online streaming substitute for the weeks when…"

GDS: Congrats to Butler

The Butler Bounty Hunters came back on the final day to defeat the Fairport Lally Gaggers, 5-4. "I recommend sending your rankings (customized or default) through a Mock Draft or two to see how it will turn out. I hope this is the case for all of their drafts, but it looks like the auto-pick will fill your lineup needs first and then return to…"

Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'Assignment #1 - Team Name, Logo, and Sign up on Yahoo Fantasy League' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Football League
"After MUCH deliberation, the Makice clan has arrived at Bloomington— sorry, "B-Town" Basilisks. Logo to follow. Attempts at Whoifying our franchise without moving us to Detroit were rebuffed. "

Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'GeekDad Fantasy Football League - which online site and scoring system' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Football League
"Yes, that last point is an important one. We had a number of Superbowl games distorted by Marv Levy benching Buffalo players. Bill Polian took that strategy to the Colts and even messed up some second-to-last-week games, too."

Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'GeekDad Fantasy Football League - which online site and scoring system' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Football League
"Definitely head to head play, as it allows teams/owners to focus on a much smaller group of new players each week and resets the competitive clock every Sunday (or Thursday, as is the case this year). Even an 0-12 team can still win week 13. I have…"

Kevin Makice replied to Steve Henry's discussion 'Fantasy Football or Pickem League?' in the project GeekDad Fantasy Baseball League
"I was just thinking this today. For many reasons, fantasy football is the easiest of the sports to get kids to understand and track, and I know I'd have some interested co-owners for this. This is the time to start prepping for drafts and…"

Since the Cows On Parade project migrated from Switzerland to America in 1999,

The Termite Trick

One of the great things about nature is how complex systems can yield such simple little miracles. My 12-year-old showed me a trick with a termite.

Think of how much technology iteration had to go into developing a…
