This year was the first year my family and I were able to attend Free Comic Book Day and the shop we went to had a member of the 501st Legion (pictured above). Although neither of my kids wanted to get their picture taken with him, I think my 5 year old son was still excited that he was there.

Tonight, while my children were playing with their Star Wars Halloween costumes, one of which is a clone trooper from the animated series, my son tells us he wants to be a clone trooper teacher. He then quickly changed his mind and just said he wants to be a teacher. So I told him "You know, when you get bigger, you can become a clone trooper if you want to." Then I proceeded to elaborate and explain about the 501st Legion and reminded him of the Stormtrooper we saw at the comic book store and explained that he was a member of the Legion.

I think my son got a little confused because the rest of the evening he kept saying he wanted a comic store so he could be a clone trooper. I tried to re-explain that he doesn't have to own a comic book store to be a member of the 501st Legion. He then told me that when he gets bigger he wants me and him to build clone trooper costumes and join the Legion together. Does that sound like awesome GeekDad, GeekSon quality time together or what?
