Don't know if any UK-based GeekDads missed this as I did, but a few months ago the Royal Mail brought out a set of stamps commemorating great British comics. Each stamp features a classic title, accompanied by one of the characters that gained fame within its pages.
The funnies are represented by the Beano (with Dennis the Menace, of course), Dandy (with Desperate Dan), Buster (with its titular hero) and Topper (accompanied by Beryl the Peril).
The girls' comics included are Twinkle (with Nurse Nancy) and Bunty (with the Four Marys). The boys' adventure titles in the set are the Eagle (and Dan Dare), Valiant (with the Steel Claw), Tiger (with Roy of the Rovers) and 2000AD (with, naturally, Judge Dredd).
The Creative Review has a great piece about them, with nice big images, and the stamps are still being sold by the Royal Mail in their online store.
