What if we treated star students like star athletes? The Mathletes group from BYU created a rap video as an answer. The article reporting their success is quite entertaining, too.

Sam Dittmer, one of the team members, hails from my home state of Indiana, where he was named the first "Mr. Math". On the day the Indiana Hoosiers return to the NCAA with a compelling basketball story, though, the line "hoops is for losers" probably pushes back too far. Can't we all just get along?

The video, shot at the BYU Marriott Center, was directed by Jaren Wilkey with music by Michael Smart and Mallory Everton.
