Following on from my last post, here are a couple more little ideas my son and I came up with to extend the Lego Heroica board. The first is an Egyptian-style temple populated with Ninjago game skeletons (Strength 2), and a mummy microfig from the Ramses Return game (Strength 3), all bought for cents off Bricklink.

If you defeat all three, you can loot a golden idol which has special powers in the game. Again, we found this gold microfig on Bricklink. Perhaps it allows you to move diagonally, or automatically defeat a particular type of monster. My son suggested making it that it defeats every bad guy automatically but was persuadable that this was a tad too powerful!

We also came up with a mountainous region, with an ice cave as the end point. Buried in the ice is a ruby and again, we ascribed special powers to it. To get there it's necessary to defeat ice spiders (Strength 1) - translucent blue spiders we found on Bricklink.

We added rope bridges to cross between peaks, built using bricks on the same template as the ones supplied in the Caves of Nathuz Heroica set - again we just picked up the necessary pieces in Bricklink.

Anyway, hope you feel inspired to raid to raid the Lego box and create some new content for this terrific game - a fantastic project to do with your kids, as part of the fun is designing and building it, and the other part is in coming up with new rules for the game together.
