Well the Star Wars Celebration VI was last month in Orlando Florida. My family and I drove down from Virignia to attend (well really for ME to attend). Luckily room and board was provided by my awesome father in law living only 15 minutes away or less even.
Some of the cool stuff that happened while down there? George Lucas made a suprise appearance at the Clone Wars panel with Dave Filoni. He then went on to appear at the next panel with Seth Green for their new series Star Wars: Detours. That was on Saturday. Because of that, I didn't do much else on Saturday. I saw George Lucas..what else do I have to do?
The other days were filled with spending money on merch, collecting free stuff daily, and getting autographs. One of the autographs I was most excited to get was Timothy Zahn's on a paperback edition of Heir to the Empire that my brother bought way back when it was released. Really helped me get into reading as a kid.
I spent the money on the Disney D-Tech Han Solo figure. It was just my face on Solo's frozen body..but it was worth every penny. I have my very own in-action figure.
And of course cosplay. Some awesome home made stuff was on show. Which is IMO the best part of it. One of my favorties was the Mcquarrie concept of Darth Vader. Really stood out amongst the many Vader's that were present.
The 501'st had a great showing of all their various characters. Storm troopers came in every shape/size/ and color.
Something that I love about this convention (I went to CV also). The people are all just really friendly. Waiting on line for X number of hours for a signature or just to get in..everyone was super cool.
A photo of the big screen of Lucas and Filoni.
There was also some awesome Lego displays there. Two personal favorites was the Outrider and an animated Battle of Hoth. (will have to embed video later).

If you have never been or are on the fence about going to this show (next one most likely 2014 in Orlando again), go. It is not SUPER insanely crowded like some other conventions can be. There is always room to move around since the Orlando Convention Center has plenty of rooms to be utilized. Everyone is super cool, and it is an experience you have to have for yourself.
